The Post Trauma Brain Shock Disorders (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder etc.)
The brain can be shocked and its functioning damaged by Severe Sicknesses, Accidents, Assaults or any other Near Death Experiences. Also by Family Breakdowns, Physical Mental or Sexual Abuse in Childhood, Financial Disaster, Wartime Conditions, Migration, Natural Disaster, Refugee or Prison traumas etc.
If shocking things happen to you, if you receive
shocking news, or if your eyes see or your ears hear or you smell shocking
things, this information passes through your nerves, to your brain and may
shock your Brain. Your Brain’s Chemistry and/or it’s Electricity may be
disturbed and disturbing Conscious or Subconscious Memories or “Mental DVD’s”
may be recorded in your brain.
The shock to your brain may cause it to produce more or less than is normal of important brain chemicals and electricity wavelengths. The chemical and electrical flows may then be too weak, too strong, or too unstable for your brain to be able to properly manage itself or to manage your body. It may be unable to manage your whole life normally and this will cause you to suffer Discomforts and Dysfunctions and to have a troubled life.
Your brain may also keep consciously or subconsciously replaying the disturbing Memories or “Mental DVDs” which it has recorded of the events and the information that caused the shock. These disturbing Memories or “Mental DVDs” cause
you to re-experience Shocks and Discomforts and Dysfunctions over and over
again until time or treatment heals you.
These disturbed Chemical and Electrical flows and disturbing memories or “Mental DVDs” are the basis of “Mental Injuries” such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute
Stress Disorder, Loss of Self Confidence/Self Esteem, Dissociation and Split
Personality Disorders.
These Post Trauma Brain Shock Disorders may be Short Term or Long Term, Temporary or Permanent. They may result in relationship difficulties
and/or breakdowns and the development of Alcohol or Drug Abuse, which can make
the consequences of the Shock Disorders much worse.
The support of family and friends can help to
minimise and heal Brain Shocks and Brain Shock Disorders. The Chemical and
Electrical Disturbances of Brain Shock Disorders can also be minimised or
corrected with Serotonin/Noradrenalin/Dopamine Boosting, Mood Stabilising and
Tranquilizing Medications and EEG Biofeedback. The disturbed memories and
“Mental DVD’s” can be helped by Information, Counselling and Understanding and
by learning Positive Thinking Activities and Lifestyles. Every time you have a Negative
thought or feeling push it away by developing a Positive thought or by doing
something positive. Look at a happy photo or picture or play some favourite
music, but don’t comfort eat or drink alcohol or take drugs in these
situations.
A serious problem is that the individuals and
groups who have suffered the most severe shocks in the past are the ones most
likely to suffer more shocks in the future because of their genes and their
circumstances. They are also usually the ones who have the least resources to
recover from shocks, and the ones who are most likely to become desperate
enough to seek short cut relief through Alcohol or Drugs that eventually make
the problem worse. They are also the ones who usually have the most Alcohol and
Drug Abusing people around them as role models. We all need to do the most we
can to help them and the HealthCare System must be geared to help the difficult
cases who have no money, as well as the easy cases who have money to pay for
the best healthcare services. We mustn’t just end up tossing the really
difficult cases into prison, which is what so often happens at present, at
great cost to the whole community.
